The highest priority around here is to get our house sold, and get moved safely back to Minneapolis. We've been trying, on and off , to sell the house since last October, and quite frankly it's getting old. I'll miss my friends here in TX terribly, and am in no rush to leave them, but I'm mostly done with this whole living-in-limbo thing.
I'd also like to find a way to not be completely wrecked by the Texas heat, which is a special kind of hot, and already in full swing - upper 90's today. Beating the heat has been a summer priority for me each of the four summers I have lived here in TX. So far I have failed each summer, so far, the heat has always had its way with me.
Most of my plans for this summer are scheduled to happen in Minnesota. In July I'll be celebrating my Dad's 70th birthday. Dad had his first heart attack and coronary by-pass surgery when he was 44, and the second one 10 years later, so 70 is truly worthy of a major celebration.
In August and again in September I'm scheduled to teach workshops in MN. I'll be traveling to teach said workshops, unless of course we are already moved, in which case there will be no traveling involved.
I haven't made any major plans here in Texas, mostly because I can't say for sure how long I'll be here. Perhaps it was foolish to make so many plans in MN, but I'd like to think of it as "hopeful" rather than "foolhardy".
Most likely this summer will include the long distance move from TX back to my home in Minneapolis. Quite possibly this summer will involve a great deal of travel back and forth between Austin and Minneapolis. Most certainly this summer will include lots of time spent with family and friends having fun, because that's what summer is all about.
Happy Memorial Day! I hope you have lots of fun planned this summer.
